WHO NEEDS A COPULA ANYWAY

The first time I ran into the concept of the copula was when I was studying Arabic some eight years or so ago.  The way it was explained to me was that to say “She is beautiful” would sound sort of absurd; it would be literally equating “her” with “beautiful”, essentially saying she is the Embodiment of Beauty.  Which, ok ( Read more... )
